Today was my first trip to the post office. I am happy to say that there is very little difference between the cost of mailing things from here to the U.S. and mailing within the U.S. Letter postage is even a little less! Now we'll see how long it takes to get to the U.S. Tell Kate her birthday present is on the way and tell Saha her "purple dress" is on the way:)
Since I had to go down to Stanley for the post office I decided it was time to stop being a creature of habit and take a new bus! I stuck with a minibus, but took one straight into Causeway Bay, managed to get off at the right stop and remembered the building and floor for Dave's new office. I had to pick-up our passports with Chinese Visas for PJ's baseball tournament from Dave's assistant. Then I took another minibus to Grace's soccer game at the Chinese International School. I did get off one stop early this time, but a little walk uphill never hurt anyone!(only a couple hundred meters) I was there well before the start of the game. It was another win for Grace's soccer team (3-0). I was prepared to take the bus to the MTR to the bus home, but Grace opted for a taxi:)
I have to tell you I felt quite accomplished after my travels today. Especially the bus ride to the soccer game since I had no idea where the Chinese International School was. The bus into Causeway Bay was a little easier as I am getting more familiar with Causeway Bay and knew in advance where I wanted to get off the bus.
While I was at Dave's office his assistant asked me why I didn't drive. I told her I have no intention of driving here. I enjoy looking at all of the scenery as I'm riding too much!
